Service

Color correction

For color that has gone uneven, too dark or too warm, planned in steps.

A correction starts with a consultation, never with a formula. We look at every layer of color on your hair, say what can change in a visit and what needs time, and agree on a plan. Results vary, and some plans take more than one visit.

Bring or tell us

  • Everything you remember about past color, including box color and henna

  • Photos of the shade you want, and of the one you have now

  • A few hours to spare, and a deposit to hold the time

Step by step

What happens

Timings vary with your hair and your plan.

  1. 01
    45 min

    Step 1: Consultation

A longer conversation about your color history, with a strand look in daylight.

  2. 02
    In the consultation

    Step 2: The plan

You get the steps, the order and an honest estimate of how many visits it may take.

  3. 03
    3–6 h

    Step 3: The first visit

The first step is done carefully and checked often, and we stop when the plan says to.

  4. 04
    As planned

    Step 4: Later visits

Further steps are booked at the right distance apart for your hair.

What sets the price

How this service is priced

A correction is priced by the steps in the plan, the time they take, the length and density of your hair and your stylist's level. You agree to the price at the consultation, and again if the plan changes.

Who does it

Book with the stylist who does this most

  • Summer Palmer, owner and lead colorist, in a charcoal smock at the studio

    Summer Palmer

Owner · Soft balayage on dark blondes

    • Cosmetology license · SC Lic. # 000000

Summer opened Tawny for clients who want color that still looks good at week ten. She does the studio's balayage consultations and works most with dark blondes, light brunettes and anyone going a shade lighter in small steps.

  • Minnie Blount, senior colorist, seated in a styling chair in a denim apron

    Minnie Blount

Senior colorist · Rich brunettes and gray blending

    • Cosmetology license · SC Lic. # 000000

Minnie blends gray into brown and black hair with soft lowlights, so the grow-out has no hard line. She is the stylist to see for deep brunettes, espresso tones and a gloss that catches the light.

Questions

Questions about this service

Is a consultation required?

Yes. Every correction starts with one, so we can plan the steps before anything is mixed.

Can it be done in one visit?

Sometimes, but many take more. We tell you at the consultation, in writing if you like.

What should I tell you?

Everything: box color, henna, a past straightening or relaxer, and any reaction you have had. It keeps the visit shorter.

Start with a consultation

Thirty to forty-five minutes on your hair, your color history and a plan, with the stylist who will do the work.
